Arsenal are being linked with a late swoop for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Miguel Veloso as the transfer deadline fast approaches.
There has been plenty of interest in the player from Manchester United, AC Milan and Juventus, but The Gunners are also said

to be in the hunt, according to his agent Paulo Barbosa.

Arsene Wenger is definitely in the hunt for a new midfielder but it remains to be seen if a deal can be pushed through in time.

“Actually, we didn’t
have normal contact from the Arsenal board, but from a member of the technical staff at the club,” Barbosa revealed.

“At the mom

ent there’s

not a formal offer, but it is possible that’ll
happen soon as Juventus and AC Milan have shown an equal interest in the player.” (Clubcall.com)

This isn’t the first time the Gunners have been linked with the £15m-rated Portuguese international but, in a relatively quiet deadline day for the Emirates side, could it be the one massive

move that Arsene said

he would make some weeks ago? He has seemingly given up hope of securing Alonso and, with most Arsenal fans feeling that an out-and-out defensive midfielder is what the club needs most, maybe it will be the Sporting man that the French genius looks to. The obvious counter argument to this deal is that Wenger very rarely purchase
s massive

and the fee could be the sticking point. What do Arsenal fans think about

this source’s rumour? Could it come to fruition or are the north London club likely to sign no one new before midnight?
